WIP

Here's one I started on the weekend. I've been planning to paint this one for a while now, so it's great to have actually made a start. It's nearly 1 metre high, which is the largest canvas I've worked on yet. Enjoy:)

Self Portrait Wednesday

Today I'm in a great mood. Not sure why exactly, though all seems to be well. Part of it may be the excitement of starting 4 new paintings, with no real idea as to what these paintings will be. All I know at this point is that they 'will be'.

Cleaning!

We gave my painting room a massive clean the other day. It was a huge job, though it so needed to be done. I'll admit it did take a letter from the real estate informing us of an inspection to get our butts into gear, though it's now done all the same. So much rubbish! I mean there were mountains and mountains of paper covered in paint, not to mention empty paint tubes scattered throughout. Old useless brushes that had managed to go unnoticed for months became the contents of a large garbage bag, with the good brushes being upgraded to a nice silver canister. 5 garbage bags later my painting room was complete. I'm starting my next series of paintings next week - s0 time to mess it up again! hehe

BTW: The much needed clean uncovered the pair of glasses I thought I'd lost. So I now have 2 pair:)

Congrats!

I'd just like to send a big congratulations to the other side of the world to my very good friends Rob and Christine Young. They have just brought a beautiful little bundle named Isabella into the world and I wish then all the best:) Rob and I have known each other since primary school, and it's very scary to think that we're all getting to the 'having kids' stage of life:)

I'm Extremely Well Hung

Yesterday I made my way to Brighton to hang my 4 geisha paintings for the Brighton Art Show. Immediately after entering the grand old mansion I was swiftly directed to my very own wall. I've never had a whole wall to myself, and I must say I kind of like it. With hammer in hand I started bashing my hooks into the wall. For some reason I felt like I was vandalising their wall, as I hadn't seen anybody else hammering since I arrived. Was I allowed to make holes in the wall? Thankfully others started bashing away and I was instantly relieved.

Brighton Geishas...

All done! whooohooo! My Geisha posse will be making their way to the Brighton Art Show this Thursday - God Speed:)

Also my very talented friend Michelle Giacobello will also be exhibiting at Brighton - so be sure to check her wonderful work out too.

Well here are the Geishas all finished. Please excuse the bad photography - they've come out too dark:)

DRY YOU BASTARD!

I'm still waiting for black portions of my Brighton Art Show paintings to dry. It's driving me nuts! The other colours have all managed to dry themselves off without a care in the world. Not black. The black parts have already had a good 6 days to get their act together. Instead they remain content on clinging to random wet shiny patches scattered throughout the 4 pieces. They've got until next Thursday to pull up their socks otherwise these 4 wet Geisha's aren't going anywhere. I think they'll dry in time though (knock on wood). They have to. Yeah they will (gulp).

Another Geisha down...

The weekend basically consisted of painting, painting and then some more painting. I more or less finished the half Geisha face, though need to do some minor work on the kimono. All going well, by the end of Tuesday I hope to have finished the 4 Geisha paintings. Nearly there!
