Hanging around...

Last night Michelle and I spent about 4 hours hanging our paintings at Loco. It was quite a lengthy process as we had to strip the walls of their current posters and paraphernalia and replace them with our work. After 4 hours of hooking, hanging and positioning we were done - and bloody exhausted to boot:)

Dry Dry Dry!

Currently our apartment is chock full of paintings scattered about the place in the hope that they will soon be dry. They're nearly there - though a little tacky in spots. Unfortunately black seems to take the longest to dry and I use a lot of it! Fingers crossed they dry by next week!

Mt Eliza Art Show..........

Michelle and I drove down to Mt Eliza Primary yesterday to drop off work for their upcoming art show. We accidentally missed the door to the drop off room (which happened to be right next to the car) and proceeded to lug our work through the school's front entrance and down various corridors haha. It was also great to checkout some of the other works there- seemed to be an interesting mix of different styles and mediums. Looking forward to this one:)

Here's my works for the show..

more painting..

I only planned to paint the edges of my Mt Eliza Show paintings last night - though after I'd painted the edges I saw a blank canvas in the room. So here's what happened...... I'll prob change the lighting on the left cheek bone to balance it more. Oh, and very cruddy photo... Also once again no initial rough outline was used - all on the fly..

Jem is patiently holding the painting up for me here....

Alarmed..

This one is my favorite one so far. So much shadow with a hint of detail. The photo isn't terrific - but you get the idea:) Oh, this is the first one so far that I haven't used an initial rough outline on the canvas as a guide.

finally done!

I finally finished my drummer and lady with umbrella - on the down side though, my camera is broken so no pics:( I'll be borrowing my sister in law's camera on tues - so hopefully some pics then. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out - though I must add they don't much different to the recent WIPs you've seen. Just a tad more polished I guess. So it was quite a productive weekend. Apart from finishing the paintings, it was a weekend full of confusion in regard to opportunity and direction - I'll fill you all in as I learn more.

Feet up!

Wed night I put the feet up and parked my backside couch-side:) So nice to just zone out sometimes and turn the brain off:) Prob get back into painting tonight or tomorrow - we'll see how it goes... Incidentally this was last pic my camera took - The lens decided to completely pack it in after this shot - maybe my feet were too ugly for it to handle:)

Here's some more from the weekend - the photos are pretty bad, though you get the idea:)
